Good Neighbor Policy

Hope Town Good Neighbor Policy

It is the policy of Hope Town to be a “great neighbor” to those who live nearby. We expect our residents and staff to conduct themselves in a friendly and courteous way and be responsive to our neighbors’ needs.

Common courtesy rules include, but are not limited to:

  • No shouting or any loud noise or music, including while driving into and out of Hope Town.
  • Smoking is permitted in designated areas only, and cigarettes must be disposed of in appropriate receptacles.
  • No littering on or around our properties, or neighbor properties (including yard, patio, street, and parking lot) with anything, including cigarette butts.
  • Maintaining clean premises by keeping the yard, parking lot, and overhangs clear and free of any clutter or trash.
  • Ensuring that our grounds are properly landscaped and kept free of weeds.
  • Maintaining that our parking lot, sidewalks, and walkways are free of ice and snow.

Failure of residents and/or staff to maintain these courtesy rules could result in dismissal from Hope Town employment or its Program.

Neighborhood Complaint Procedure

Hope Town anticipates having a great relationship with its neighbors and working to make our community better. Since we strive to be a good neighbor, Hope Town will take any neighbor complaint seriously, and once notified, Hope Town management will work to resolve issues in a mutually satisfactory way.

If residents or staff members hear of a neighbor complaint, we will:

  • Listen carefully to what the complaint is and assure the neighbor that this will be addressed by one’s supervisor immediately.
  • Smoking is permitted in designated areas only, and cigarettes must be disposed of in appropriate receptacles.
  • Take notes about the complaint and be sure to get the name, address, and contact phone number of the person reporting it.
  • Give the neighbor contact information below for a coordinator/director and tell them they are also free to reach out to that person.
  • Immediately report (with the notes) the complaint and the neighbor’s contact information..
